FOOD CREATINE
Tried for 2 weeks. No effect, but then again, was not really expecting any effect for such short term. Non-controlled experiment, goes without saying.- Oldman
FOOD NESCAFE GOLD
Excellent, great taste, feel stronger during the ride if 2-cups taken 20 minutes before a ride. Non-controlled experiment, goes without saying.- Oldman
FOOD ENDUROX R4 RECOVERY DRINK
I don't really need such stuff because I am not at a performance level that needs such supplements. Bought it from GNC during b'day month promotion. Maybe it's psychological, maybe it's real, BUT it does seem to work. I seem to recover quicker. Anyway, it taste good to me but then again, even cabbage taste good to me. - Oldman
FOOD Red Bull
Not so great taste (taken 1 part RB, 2 part water), but must be taken continuously during the ride, otherwise felt weak about 45 minutes later. Felt stronger but I suffered muscle cramps on more than one occasion when I take RB. Contrary to popular belief, doesn't make you feel like a bull on heat. FOOD BOMBA Blue
Same as RB. Also suffered cramps each time! Non-controlled experiment, goes without saying. - Oldman
FOOD PowerBar
Vanilla flavored. Ahh, taste good to me, but no effect on my ride because my ride is never century ride. Non-controlled experiment, goes without saying.- Oldman
FOOD Milo Bar
Chocolate/Potato (?) flavored. My favorite mid-ride pick-up for our longer night ride (80 km). After-burner effect within 15 minutes, thereafter weaker than normal. Maybe should continue every 15 mins. Cheaper than PowerBar! Non-controlled experiment, goes without saying. - Oldman
FOOD EPO
Besides Erythropoietin (EPO) (which if you buy me a Seven Odonata, can be arranged to be had) Coffee is the best stimulant. Drink 1 cup 30 mins before the TTT and start cranking the pedals. It works for me. Don’t drink 4 cups 2 hours before a race, ask Skin about it.
All other stuff like home cooked goo, powerbars et al, don’t hack it for me. Give me a Hokkien Mee after a ride. While on the ride, live on the fat stores that you have accumulated through the week. (does not apply to persons resembling Stick, skin and Keith) - Doc
